Kaaren Kaaren Anderson
The host of LifeNow! Radio is Rev. Kaaren Anderson.

Kaaren is the Co-Parish Minister of the First Unitarian Church of Rochester with her husband Scott Tayler.  She is a non-theist with a deep love of Grace, a passion for skydiving when the money to do so presents itself, and her children's biggest fan.  A self proclaimed crazy artist who turns all adventures and housing projects into art endeavors, she loves snowboarding, rockclimbing, reading, country singing and her sister's pie.

 Santosha

Santosha Kuykendahl
Santosha is a seething Rochester-based stay-at-home mom. After growing up in a Marxist household, doing a stint as a Peace Corps Volunteer and marrying a socialist from the former Soviet Union, she had the brilliant idea of studying global business in grad school in South Carolina, of all places. She spent several years looking at the Confederate flag atop the nearby statehouse and ultimately made her mark in grad school by declaring one day that she thought it was tacky for the professors to spend so much time talking about money. Work brought the family to upstate New York, where they promptly bought a Victorian house that serves as the perfect setting for Santosha's retro-Victorian life: family, church, and neighborhood. Santosha is only too grateful for the fact that life has changed from the Victorian era in one significant way, however: bored, slightly hysterical young mammas are now threatened with pharmaceuticals rather than lobotomies, hysterectomies or other invasive cures.

Sara Sara Berger
Sara Berger lives in Rochester with her wife and partner of over 30 years, Ginny Tucker. As the relocating spouse, she resisted a move to snowy upstate New York, only to discover that living in the culturally vibrant city of Rochester is a perfect fit. Working with patients and families facing life-threatening, often terminal illnesses for many years, Sara realized that she was a privileged guest as they shared their stories, hopes, and fears. The writer and playwright, Claudia Shear, writes about how everyone has at least one story, at least one, that will stop your heart. Although Sara has left hospice work, she approaches this radio project with the recognition that she is once again a privileged guest in the lives of those she interviews and that in each conversation we have, be it for the radio or in everyday life, there is the potential to hear a story that will stop your heart.

 Claudia Cashman

Claudia Quinn Cashman
Claudia is a former professional musical theater actor and dancer.  Although she has had to learn to dance on the INSIDE lately, she continues her career as a voice artist, both locally and nationally. She is very excited to be part of "Life Now", as a Unitarian AND as a voice artist!  Claudia  is a writer, multi-media artist, photographer, wife and mother, animal lover, tree hugger, walker of labyrinths near and far and a firm believer in the strong connection that exists between her soul and the pull of the moon in all its phases. Intuition is the guiding force in her life. She greatly dislikes cooked peas and hot, humid weather.

 Bob Thompson

Bob Thompson
Bob is a lifelong resident of Irondequoit NY, leading what would seem a normal suburban existence. But we all encounter turnings in life and Bob is no different. A single father of five, he is following the path of discovering new passions in life. His recently found interests include kayaking, cooking, road cycling and geocaching, all a far cry from his daily work as a mortgage banker. Bob's passion for people is what brings him to LifeNow! Radio. He believes that all of life's lessons can have a positive impact on one's life journeys. Sharing those experiences will remind everyone that there really are silver linings to those storm clouds.

 Kelly Kilmer Hall

Kelly Kilmer Hall
Kelly is a transplant to the snowy city streets of Rochester from the relative serenity of Happy Valley, home of Penn State University, where she grew up. Despite being raised in an academic environment, life has resisted her myriad attempts to finish her undergraduate degree, but it hasn't stopped her from working in a wide variety of jobs. Kelly has been a foster parent, worked in a battered women's shelter, managed a residential program for homeless adolescents, and has spent the last 10 years writing for a variety of alternative and traditional publications.
She and her husband Tom, a Rochester native, homeschool their four children and cherish the time they get to spend with these wonderful beings before they run off to pursue their own interests. Contrary to appearances, she does not "have her hands full," but enjoys the challenges of balancing marriage, parenting, working, and homeschooling.
Life is a joy, not a burden, and as they say, it's about the journey, not the destination. She enjoys sharing the stories of the world around us through her craft.

 Dawn Wendt

Dawn
Wendt

An almost native of Texas, Dawn settled in Western New York aftertraveling across the country as a lab tech and QA queen for a now-defunct environmental firm, and before actually experiencing a real winter.
Now a web design tech for a local community college, she and husband/toymaker Bruce also travel the northeast selling toys at arts and crafts fairs, when not shuttling their two kids to school and activities, walking the new dog, or bemoaning the lack of progress in renovating their drafty old house. LifeNowRadio fulfills Dawn's lifelong dream of being a pseudo-NPR correspondent!
